Current Mood : A good kind of tired...
Struck out on ‘sewing' day today as well - last night, Beloved Hubby was concerned about all he had to get done today, so I asked how I could help. That's how I spent most of today cleaning out the garage - he needed the space to work on the truck. And soon, my car !
Got a good workout. Moved the new-to-us kitchen chairs inside, and the old ones out, with a one-letter-per-chair ‘Free' sign on ‘em. They soon found a new home, and she may be purchasing our old sofa. That made Beloved happy. That, and by the time he got home from work, all he had to do to get the truck in there was shift the sofas over, something I just didn't have the strength to do. I nearly filled the just-emptied pick up trash can with old boxes and older papers that've been out there since we moved here - nearly two years ago !
It was kind of funny, the stuff I found. Just yesterday, Dearest Son needed two more notebooks for school. Luckily, I was prepared - I'd bought extra when they were dirt cheap loss-leaders in the back to school sales. I wished I'd bought more. Today I found eight more in the garage, stuffed in a box, with one package not even opened yet.
Got out the rug Aunt gave us with the chairs, and hosed it down while the day was so nice and the hose was already out. It really is pretty, and it should be dry by sunset tomorrow. It was already pretty clean, but when I got up close to it to move it, it whiffed a bit of dog. Surprisingly, I got soap suds to bubble out of it while I was hosing it off, and I wasn't using any detergent !
Tonight, though, Dearest didn't need me because he's working on the truck, so I had a bit of ‘me' time. Remember that truckload of lace I got at that yard sale last month ? I got some of it into the lace and ribbon tote last week. Today, I tried to shoehorn in the rest. Nope. No way. So now, the lace and ribbon tote is now just the ribbon tote, and I cast around in my mind for a place to put all this lace. Remembered that I had a nearly-empty drawer in the bedroom chest... a few minutes later, it was empty, but not for long. It's now completely full of lace. I really need to go through it - a wedding gown designer wouldn't have this much lace around, so it's super-silly for me to.
That also freed up a small basket I had, so I washed it out and it's now holding the surplus of big spoons we've somehow ended up with. There for a while, we could barely close the flatware drawer because of ‘em all.
And, guess what ? Tomorrow's the first Flea Market of the year - followed next weekend by the first Garage Sale Flea Market. Not sure if I'll be able to go, we're down a vehicle, and even if I do, it's for entertainment pretty much. I think I have $1.87 in my wallet right now ! But it'd be nice to.
