Looking forward...

Current Mood : Relaxed

Dearest Son is home, trailing toys and noise. His chatter is about 50% Wall-E, 50% Lego Batman. It's sometimes hard to tell where their lines blur ! He doesn't return to school until Jan. 05, so we have lots of fun room-cleaning ahead of us this week !

I got to spend the day tiding up in the Lab, something I've needed to do since the felt stars were complete... well, actually, before that. Thanks to the stars, the felt now all fits in the case, so I got all of it refolded and put away. Also the new doll shoes and a few new outfits. Still not sure how I'm gonna cram all that lace into the bin where it belongs, but I'm gonna give it the ole college try once this is posted.

The dolls I'm donating and some other bits and bobbles got put away, and I finally finished with the Big Box o' Sewing Stuff. Most of it went into the Crafts box in my bedroom closet, but there was so much, I had to redo the Crafts box first ! And I get to go through purses tomorrow - much as I'm fond of it, that jeans purse just isn't big enough anymore, and I have several yard sale finds that I haven't used yet. Next purse, I'm gonna make !

I also found the patterns I bought back a month ago - really, a month to the date ! - and at least got their covers scanned. That way, when I check to see if I already have it, I'll know. I still have a lot of patterns to scan, but at least this way, I won't buy it twice. Got those stored, along with some doll shoes, donated the small saddle that doesn't fit the Barbie Pegasus, and got the cutting table surface completely clean. It's been cluttered for at least a month now.

And with that, I need to update the pattern catalog. I really, really should have made an index for that when I created it last summer...

But now that the cutting area's cleaned off, I'm thinking more about sewing something than updating my books !

I wish I could sew something to.  I'm so relaxed when I am sewing but the room I craft in I literally made into a war zone with craft junk.  I need to get rid of a lot of that stuff.  I am trying to use it all up instead of just throwing it away.  So far so good but still have a lot of stuff to use up. Then hopefully I will just deal with fabric and yarns for my crafts.  I just like to take on one to many things.  I need to stop that and pick a few.  I think sewing, knitting/crocheting, and cross stitch and other needle crafts will be my thing.  Now if only I could really stick to that.  *Sigh*  I can't wait to see the next thing you sew.  Its always a treat to see something new you have sewn.

Hey, Michelle ! Yeah, in some ways, I'm suffering from excess, too, bizarre as that sounds. I had to give up cross-stitch, it made my hand hurt, cause I'd do that for unending hours. Now, about an hour of hand-sewing hurts the same way. Oh, well. Not dead yet, useless to complain, right ? (grin)

And I don't think I've ever thrown any craft stuff out, either, I even cling to the scraps... and haunt web sites for ideas, buy 'scrap crafts' books and tools to use them. I am just hopeless ! Occasionally, I go crazy and donate a few bits, but even that's been rare. I just don't get that guilty that often, ya know ?

Aunt S. is the family queen of markdown shopping, but even she overbuys, especially on craft kits. She's about the only one who can afford to buy too much on markdown - I buy too much at yard sales ! She went through her stashes lately, and some have made their way down the family pipeline, but I don't do crewel or much embroidery. I'm tryin' to think of new ways to use all this blasted lace - it's ankle-deep baggies of it in here ! Ran out of time to get 'em stored.

Well, this squirrel better start using her stash, or it'll bury her ! Gonna go crash - see ya Monday !
