Movie Week Continues !
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: XM 71 - Watercolors (light jazz)

I started this last night - cut the Cars fabric left from Fiyero's shirt into a rectangle, and hemmed it. Today, I made the lined denim bodice - I even double-seamed the sides ! - and gathered, then joined the skirt to the bodice, and added snaps. Not bad ! I kinda wish the print was right-side-up on the part in the front, but that'll happen with a 'random angle' fabric.

I didn't realize it until I went to pose Fiyero and Elphie together (photo on home page)- her bodice is made from the exact same denim as Fiyero's shorts ! Both came from Beloved Hubby's Gramma...

About two years ago, Gramma moved here. She told me she had a can of old sewing supplies, and once they found it, it was for me. Two weeks later, I was expecting a coffee can when DMIL and DFIL said they were bringing it over. Turned out to be a hugh-jass popcorn tin, crammed full ! Needles, wooden-spool thread, fabric, trims, lace, sewing machine needles, zippers, hoops, old promo needle cards... and I've appreciated it all. Thanks, Gramma !

Took Dearest Son to the library. Someone donated five big binders of craft magazines, and I went through 'em all. Selected three. Two with no-pattern clothes designs for me, the other with American Girl-size patterns for various dresses. While I don't have an AG or clone, I want to do a bit of experimenting for other dolls with the shapes. Plus, I showed a physical therapist the website for Sew-Able dolls. These AG-size dolls have prostheses, therapy tools, even wigs for chemotherapy. If they get a few, I can make clothes. Plus, at 10c a magazine, I could spring for it !

My entire crafting philosophy is based on 'Rather have it and not need it than need it and decided against it !' !

I think I may give Elphie and Fiyero a break for a bit. I wanna try a few different sizes, use up some of this fabric lying around. Wanna see if I can do collars for other dolls, too !
