What You Will Need :
2 empty Advair inhalers
Some Goof-Off or paint thinner
A small rag
Scissors
Small bit of felt
Super Glue (yup, the cheap stuff'll do !)
A doll to model !
Peel off the Advair labels - this'll usually leave some adhesive behind. So apply a bit of paint thinner
or Goof-Off to a rag, and use it to get rid of the adhesive. Make sure it's nice and dry and clean. Discard the rag, preferrably
outside, and cap your solvent.
Now, it's time to decide how you want your chair to look !
Do you like 'The Offset' ?
Or maybe you like 'The Off Center' better !
Some like 'The Outer Space' better !
And, of course, you can't go wrong with 'The Perfectly Matched' !
However you like yours, remember it, because it's nearly time to glue
'em together. But first... grab the felt and scissors. The inhalers won't stick to each other - the rim prevents it - so we're
gonna glue 'em to a felt circle. Cut one to fit the inner circle, and Super Glue it to one of the inhalers. Make sure it's
facing the right side up for you !
Then, apply some more Super Glue to the felt circle and the other inhaler. Carefully place it the way you
like, because the second it contacts the felt, it's stuck for more-or-less life. Press down a bit, then let dry for a few
minutes. If you like, you can weight it down with a heavy book or weight, but I didn't need to on this one.
And there you go ! The Advair chair ! It's either the most expensive doll
furniture you've ever made, or the cheapest ! If you like, you can add a cushion in neat fabric, or use some more felt for
the circle on the top. Or take a simple square of fabric, add heavy beads to each corner, and let it dangle over the chair's
edges. It's all up to you.
Mary Ann likes her new recycled seat ! If you have three empty Advairs,
it may well work as seating for a larger doll !
Hope you enjoy your Advair chair !
